Enjoying the New Patio

We spent the end of the summer enjoying the new patio at the cottage, where we now have a proper space for a fire pit!  The bigger girls loved roasting marshmallows and cooking hot dogs over the fire.  I also insisted on introducing them (and apparently several of the adults) to banana boats**, which everyone LOVED! I love this beautiful new outdoor space.  Nothing like an outdoor fire on a summer evening!

**For those of you not privileged enough to have experienced banana boats, they are made by slicing lengthwise down the centre of an unpeeled banana, stuffing chocolate chips and marshmallows in it, then wrapping it up in aluminum foil and placing it the fire until it's warm and gooey (can also be done on the BBQ for those who want to try it tonight). Mmmmm!

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo.....

Cohen and mommy went to the zoo a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed a perfect day with Carolyn, Sam, Madli and Gabriel.  The highlight of the day for mommy was the pandas (I can't wait to go back again just to see them).  Cohen's favorites were the polar bears and the giraffes.  He also really enjoyed the otters (they were very active), the penguins (he danced while watching them....because that's what penguins do....at least that's what we've led him to believe based on the Happy Feet movie), and walking under the waterfall.

It was a perfect day to enjoy the awesome splash park!

Dinner Outside

Cohen loves to be outside and we spend many evenings in the backyard.  I usually make him eat inside because he's too distracted outside, but occasionally I let him have dinner in the backyard.  As you can see, he had a hard time sitting still, but as long as he kept eating, I didn't mind.

Too Cool

This is from our drive home from the cottage a few weeks ago.  Cohen insisted on wearing his bike helmet in the car, then got a hold of Mommy's sun glasses and he knew he had found the winning combination.  Coolest dude ever!

Auntie Lindsay's New Digs

We visited Auntie Lindsay's new house on the weekend.  Cohen loved running around in the empty space (she hasn't moved in yet, so there was no furniture) and going up and down the stairs.

Love the new place Linds!  Can't wait for the housewarming party :)

Enjoying a Treat

Uh Oh

Cohen was playing a little rough with his Little People zoo one day and both he and the toy fell over and the toy landed on him.  He immediately said "uh oh" and then thought it was funny.  He kept putting the toy upright and then purposely knocking it over and falling down so it landed on him.  He must have done it a dozen times, laughing each time as he got up.
