Swimming - Zwemmen

On Friday we joined Aunt Brenda and Ayla for a swim at the local pool.  This was Cohen's first time swimming.  He didn't seem to know what to think of it at first, but was loving it by the end.  He also enjoyed playing and talking with Ayla.

Molly en Cohen zullen inderdaad binnenkort beste vriendjes worden. Molly wilt al alles proberen dat Cohen mag doen. Ik ben bang voor de dag wan Cohen wil alles doen dat Molly doet en ik weet wel dat die dag is heel kort bij. Molly eet haar eigen kak af en toe nog.

Molly and Cohen will be best buds soon enough. Molly wants to get her nose into everything that Cohen can do. I'm afraid for the day when Cohen starts copying Molly and I know that day is not far off. Molly still occasionally eats her own poop.

Of all the things that you've done so far, this is my favorite. You do this almost all the time when you're awake and even sometimes when you sleep. I can just sit and watch you do this for hours, if only you could lie still for that long.

Van alle dingen die je tot nu toe hebt gedaan, dit is mijn favoriet. Dit doe je bijna de hele tijd als je wakker bent en soms zelfs als je slaapt. Ik kan alleen maar uren zitten en kijken hoe je dit doet, alleen als je maar kon zo lang stil liggen.

Saige Muffels

Je nichtje Saige Muffels was eergisteren geboren. Proficiaat Dwayne, Tiffany en Wyatt!! We moeten wat klusjes doen bij de zomerhuis vandag en daan gaan we om haar te ontmoeten bij oom Dwayne thuis. We schoppen je uit je kinderbedje en we geven het aan Saige. Je bent niet de klienste in de familie meer, de vertroeteling stopt. Het wordt tijd dat je opgroeit en slapen in je eigen kamer als een man... een kleine manneke die houdt van zijn papa. 

Your cousin Saige Muffels was born the day before yesterday. Congratulations Dwayne, Tiffany and Wyatt!! After we finish some chores up at the cottage we're going to visit Uncle Dwayne to meet her later today. We're booting you out of your crib and giving it to Saige. You're not the smallest in the family anymore, no more coddling. It's high time that you grow up and sleep in your own room like a man... a little man who loves his papa.

Afternoon Out with the Ternoway Ladies - Gezellige middag met de Ternoway dames

Cohen recently joined Mommy at Tina's baby shower, where Cohen enjoyed an afternoon with the ladies, meeting many of his aunties from the Ternoway clan.  We also met cousin Ellery for the first time (such a cutie!).  I think Cohen enjoyed being the only guy at the party!

Dankzegging - Thanksgiving

Het is 'n schitterend mooi weekend bij de zomerhuisje van Nana en Gida. De najaar kleuren zijn op hun hoogtepunt. De zon schijnt en er zijn geen enkele wolken in de lucht. Ik heb gisteren drie uur door de kleurrijk bos gefietst. En als ik thuis kwam jij was er op mij te wachten in de armen van je mom, mijn mooie vrouw.  De hele familie Ternoway, behalve tante Lindsay, is ook hier. We hebben te veel gegeten, en misschien te veel gedronken, maar het was echt gezellig. Morgen ga we naar Opa en Oma voor dankzegging met die kant. Iedereen, name jij, is gezond en gelukkig. Voor dit allemaal ben ik eeuwig dankbaar. Oh en Molly poepte op het dek en oom George stapte in! Lauren vond dat kei grappig.

It's a gorgeous weekend at the cottage.The fall colors are at their peak. The sun is shining and there's not a cloud in the sky. Yesterday, I went for a three hour bike ride through the colorful woods. When I got home you were there waiting for me in the arms of your mom, my beautiful wife. The whole Ternoway family, except Auntie Lindsay, is here as well. We ate too much, and maybe had a little too much to drink, but it was good times. Tomorrow we go to Opa and Oma's for Thanksgiving with that side. Everyone, but especially you, is healthy and happy. For all of this I am eternally grateful. Oh and Molly pooped on the deck and Uncle George stepped in it! Lauren thought that was hilarious.

Three Months Old! - Drie maanden oud!

Today Cohen is 3 months old.  He continues to develop and grow.  This month he's become much more interactive and he loves looking at toys, being read to and singing songs.  He's always full of smiles in the mornings, but tends to get a bit fussy in the evenings.  This month we started going to the Early  Years Centre and he loves the interactive "circle time", but doesn't seem to care much for the other babies...Mommy loves going too so she can interact with the other mothers!  Cohen has just started to notice Molly and will watch her intently when she catches his eye.

Een photo met de Canadese en Amerikaanse deel van familie "Dieker" en Oma op 6 augustus 2011 bij onze Dwayne in de tuin. Het was een gezellige middag met iedereen. Enkele minuten later oom Johan belt oom Henk met de slechte nieuws over oom Frank. Gelukkig dat wij allemaal samen waren.

A photo of the Canadian and American part of the "Dieker" family with Oma on August 6, 2011 in Dwayne's backyard. It was a fun afternoon with everyone. A few minutes later Uncle Henk got the call from Uncle Johan with the bad news about Uncle Frank. Fortunately we were all together.
