Cohen's First Jack-o-lantern

Happy Halloween!  Here are a few pics of Cohen getting ready to celebrate Halloween.  He can't wait to go trick-or-treating tonight with his cousins.

Cohen was pretty excited to bang the metal bowl with his spoon...he didn't seem interested in using the spoon to scoop out the pumpkin goop.

Molly helped too....by eating the pumpkin guts.

With some help from Daddy, he finally tried scooping out the pumpkin.

Halloween Party

On Sunday we went to a Halloween party with all of Cohen's friends from our playgroup.

Rocking Horses

These are the rocking horses that my dad made for Erin and I when we were very young.  Over the years both of them had been broken.  My dad fixed up and painted Erin's old horse for the girls a few years ago and now he has fixed up and painted my old horse for Cohen.  He LOVES it.  Here's a few pics of Cohen and Maddie enjoying Gigi's horses.

Sweet Boy

I love this picture of my sweet boy.  I know it's not a picture of his beautiful smile or his silly personality, but it reminds me of our quieter moments.  This is the cuddly, loving Cohen who gives his mama big wet kisses.

A Little Light Reading

This looks like an interesting book....

Wow...this is nothing like my books at home...
Cohen decided to choose a book from Oma and Opa's bookshelf to look through and of the myriad books, this is the one he chose.

And Then There Were Seven....

All seven of the Muffels cousins were together for the first time this weekend.  From the left: Saige (12 months), Ayla (18 months), Serena (almost 4) holding Maeve (5 weeks), Peter (8 months), Wyatt (3 1/2) and Cohen (15 months).

What a good looking bunch!

15 Months!

Cohen had his 15 month check-up on Friday and he is now 21 lbs 10 oz (25th percentile) and 77 cm (15th percentile).  He has become an active toddler and although he hasn't grown much in the past three months, his development has exploded.  I had a hard time getting his 15 month photo because he refused to sit still, which is pretty indicative of his character these days

Cohen has adjusted extremely well to daycare and although he's usually sad to say good bye to Daddy at drop off and is extremely happy to see Mommy at pick-up, he enjoys his time there and has bonded with his teachers.

Cohen still loves to play with anything that has wheels and enjoys his ride-on truck the best, but can still be found pushing his push walker and of course playing with his cars and tractors.  He has started working on his fine motor skills and loves the stacking/nesting cups and building (and knocking down) towers with his blocks.  Cohen also loves to dance and stops whatever he's doing to groove whenever he hears music (which is often because so many of his toys are musical).  Cohen has also become more interested in books lately and he often babbles out loud while looking through a book, as though he's reading it.

Cohen has started to say a few words, such as mama, dada, duck, all done, bye bye, this and tractor, but he mostly seems happy to babble incoherently.  He's still just as vocal as he's always been and talks to himself constantly.

During the transition to daycare, Cohen started to take a strong liking to a stuffed chicken, which he can often be seen cuddling, especially during his down time.  We refer to it as "chicken licken" and it is his comfort toy.  Cohen gave up his soother over the summer, so I was very glad when he chose a lovie so he had something to bring him comfort at daycare.

We continue to try to enjoy Cohen every day.  He brings such joy into our lives and we can't wait to see what's in store for him next!

Guelph Storm

Yesterday we went to see a Guelph Storm hockey game with Uncle Matt, Serena and Ayla.  The kids enjoyed the game more that I thought they would.  The game was really exciting, with a lot of goals (the storm won 7-6 in OT).  Definitely a fun activity with the kids.  Cohen was mesmerized by the hockey players....perhaps we should get him a pair of skates this winter?
