Space Day!!!

We spent a day at the Kennedy Space Centre, which was a highlight for me and a place I've always wanted to visit.  It did not disappoint!  My future astronaut enjoyed it too, despite the loud and often scary sounds in the movies and presentations.  We saw an excellent 3-D movie on the Hubble space telescope, saw many vintage rockets and space capsules, viewed an exhibit on the mission to the moon (including the colossal Saturn V rocket - the biggest ever made), rode in a shuttle launch simulator and explored an interactive exhibit on Mars exploration and current and future NASA initiatives.  Here are a few pics from the day.

Disney World Animal Kingdom

We had an amazing day at Disney's Animal Kingdom, but unfortunately I don't have many photos of the day.  Below are a few from the Safari ride, which was amazing!  We saw so many animals and they were mostly very active because we did the ride first thing in the morning.  I was also very impressed with the Finding Nemo show, the Lion King show and the Bug's Life 3-D movie / animatronics show (although this was a bit scary for the kids).  We ended this wonderful day with an excellent buffet dinner at the African-inspired restaurant.

Disney World Magic Kingdom!

We spent two days at Disney World, one at Magic Kingdom and one at Animal Kingdom.  Cohen doesn't know how lucky he is to have his first visit to Disney at just 7 months old, Mommy had to wait until she was 11 years and Daddy didn't go until he was 20!  Hopefully we'll be able to take him again when he's old enough to appreciate it :)

I hadn't been to a Disney park in 14 years, and I was so impressed with everything.  The attention to detail and the cleanliness of the park was incredible.  They were super accommodating with Lindsay and Caitlin's allergies at the restaurants and I was impressed at the healthy choices and reasonable prices where we ate.  Most of all, it was fun to experience it through Caitlin and Lauren, who were the perfect age to enjoy the magic and wonder of everything.  They were mesmerized by seeing Mickey and Minnie in the parade and so excited to meet Tinkerbell and get some of her pixie dust.  At the end of "It's a Small World" (our first ride of the day) Caitlin said "it feels like my heart is dancing".

My favorite part of our visit was the fireworks show at the end of the day.  It was by far the most incredible fireworks I've ever seen.  Cohen also enjoyed the fireworks, but his favorite thing was the Tiki Room, which was an animatronic show with singing birds, flowers and totems.

Love

I've come to know a whole new kind of love since Cohen was born and on this Valentine's Day I feel so blessed to love and be loved by the two wonderful guys in my life.  I love you both with all my heart!

Florida

Cohen and Mommy arrived home safely from our trip to Florida.  We missed Daddy terribly while we were away, but still managed to enjoy the hot & sunny weather and had a great time with our Ternoway family.

Seven Months Photos

Cohen will have a boy cousin his own age to visit in Bethesda, yay! Peter was born at about 3:30 this morning at just over 7 lbs. He's the spitting image of his Dad. Congrats Chris, Kate, Auntie Meghan Everngam and Grandma and Grandpa Everngam!! And congrats Oma and Opa!

Seven Months Old!

Cohen is seven months old today and it's hard to believe that another month has flown by.  This month has been another busy one.  Cohen has become quite the traveler, finishing up our trip in France and Spain and he's now with Mommy in Florida!  He's been excellent on all the plane rides and a trooper being dragged to historical sites, big cities and churches in Europe and Disney World and Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.  I just hope he doesn't come to expect this vacation schedule every year!

We've reached two big milestones this month.  Cohen is now sitting on his own (his big breakthrough came on the plane home from Europe).  And he has cut his first (and second!) tooth!  He was a bit fussy with each tooth, preferring to be in Mommy's arms, but he was very good overall and it was much better than I had expected.
