Oom Frank - Uncle Frank

Cohen, when you get around to reading this post ask me to tell you about my (and your) self-pronounced "Crazy" Uncle Frank. He died on the day you turned one month old, which was yesterday; one of the most unbelievable and unlikely days I can remember (I think I'm still in shock). He had the biggest smile, loved life and rode sexy motorbikes very fast. It's sad that he didn't get to know you or you him. It never occurred to me that this was a possibility. He was also a huge Pearl Jam fan.

Cohen, als je dit bericht leest, vraag me om je over je "gekke" Oom Frank te vertellen. Hij overleed op de dag dat jij een mand oud werd. Dat was gisteren, een van de meest ongelooflijke en onwaarschijnlijke dagen die ik me kan herinneren. (Ik denk dat ik nog steeds geschokt ben.) Frank had de grootste glimlach, hij hield van het leven en reed sexy motoren kei snel. Het is erg jammer dat hij jou nooit zal leren kennen of jij hem ook niet. Ik had nooit gedacht dat dit een mogelijkheid was. Hij was ook een grote Pearl Jam fan.

Awake - Eventjes wakker

Cohen doesn't have many awake periods yet and when he does they tend to be short. I usually try to interact with him during these periods and forget to get out the camera, so we don't have a lot of photos of him awake and alert. I finally remembered to pull out the camera on Friday when he was alert and took the following series.

One Month! - Een maand!

Today Cohen is one month old! It's hard to believe he's already been with us that long...and at the same time, it feels like he's always been here. We have enjoyed the challenges and joys of our first days of parenthood and can't wait to see how Cohen changes and grows in his second month.

Baby Hiccups - Baasje heeft de hik

Cohen, like most infants, gets hiccups quite often. It amazes me that he can fall asleep with the hiccups. He doesn't seem bothered at all when he has them.

Due Date - Vervaldag

Today is Cohen's official due date although he'll be 4 weeks old tomorrow. He was 6 lbs 14 oz at birth, but dropped to 5 lbs 14 oz by July 11. Today he was weighed at his doctor's appointment and is now exactly 8 lbs., so he's growing at a faster than average rate. Way to go buddy! Keep up the good growing!
