Eleven Months!

It feels as though each month is going by faster than the previous month.  Cohen is already 11 months old!  We have had another very busy month and Cohen no longer seems like my little baby, but is acting and looking more like the toddler he's becoming.  We've had our most life-changing milestone this month.  Cohen is now fully on the move, crawling everywhere and cruising whenever possible and even climbing when he has the chance.  His mobility went from a 3 foot radius to the whole house one morning when he discovered the one-foot-one-knee crawling method.  He has now completely abandoned the army-man crawl and uses a combination of his new method and the traditional crawl.  But his first love remains walking and although he hasn't taken any unassisted steps yet, he has become very sturdy on his feet and is often seen pushing his walker one-handed.

Cohen has started making a lot more consonant sounds this month, including the "M" sound, finally!  He often says "mum-mum", but his babbling still is not associated with anything in particular, so we're still waiting for a first word.  He might not be using words yet himself, but his understanding of what we're saying is vastly improving (time for Daddy to stop using bad language!)

We had some improvements with his sleeping this month, followed by some regression due to a cold.  But he now goes to sleep just as easily with Daddy (still working on reducing the number of night wakings).  His sleep training will be put to the test soon because Oma and Opa will be putting him to bed this weekend while Mommy and Daddy are at a wedding (good luck Oma & Opa!).  One funny thing that he now does is sit up in his sleep and then wakes up confused because he's sitting up in his crib (well, it's funny at 10pm, but maybe not so much at 3am)

Cohen is still a very happy baby and he is a definite people-pleaser.  Whenever we're out, he smiles at everyone we see and he often makes friends with other shoppers in line at the grocery store, other mothers at the park, waitresses in restaurants and just about anyone who will make eye contact with him.  He always has a smile for everyone.
